  • Responsibilities

    This position will be located either in San Mateo, CA. or Woodland Hills, CA. depending on location of final candidate. 

     

    Essex is seeking a  Trainer/Learning & Development Specialist with Accounting experience. This position will be responsible for design, development and delivery of learning initiatives specific to the Accounting and Accounts Payable Teams.

     

    • Assist in the design, maintenance and delivery of an innovative Accounting­ training-program, which assists in onboarding new hires, development of accounting skills and retention of current employees.
    • Partner with subject matter experts and the Sr. Director of Process Improvement to develop relevant in-person and on-demand learning solutions.
    • Facilitate instructor-led training in a variety of subject areas including Training Resources, Desktop Procedures, Budgeting and Accounting Processes.
    • Maintain the content and relevance of an Intranet site that includes learning resources and tools for the Accounting Teams.
    • Design and distribute  analyses of  Accounting's learning activity.
    • Collaborate with the Process Improvement Team on special projects related to Learning and Development.

    Qualifications

    • A consultative approach and ability to develop rapport with internal customers.
    • Experience in building relationships with people at different organizational levels.
    • Familiar with social and mobile learning tools and methods.
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
    • Demonstrated attention to detail and project management ability.
    • Bachelor's degree within HR, Adult Learning or Communications or 3-5 years experience as a trainer in the Learning & Development field. 
    • 2-3 years Accounting experience, optimal.
    • Ability to travel monthly between Corporate offices in San Mateo and Woodland Hills, CA.

    Job Requirements

    A valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance is required.
